There are some applications where servo electronics and motors are preferable to steppers.  These are typically installations where more power is required than is available with a stepper system, or where a substantial gear reduction is used, and the motors must operate at a very high rpm.

Most coordinate drive (x/y) cutting tables with a gantry weighing 500 lbs. or less will be just as well served with a stepper system as with servos.  There is a smaller initial investment, and at least the same accuracy. Replacement motors, should they ever be needed, are less than half the cost of servo motors.

Other manufacturers of low to medium priced cnc cutting tables that have servo electronics, typically use brushed servo motors imported from China.  Torchmate uses only electronics and brushless servo motors of American manufacture.  You get what you pay for!

Torchmate can supply closed loop servo systems suitable for every application from a small desktop milling machine to a Bridgeport or equivalent mill.  We can also retrofit plasma or oxy-fuel shape cutting machines of virtually any size.
 
The system uses your laptop or desktop computer. 
We can supply either, with all needed software
installed and configured.

Motors are available in NEMA 23, 34, and 42 configurations, with 8 to 12 amp. continuous driver current, and peak current up to 20 amps.
